We typically know right away if something is out of balance in our bodies because we feel it! But embarking on a healing journey isn’t so much about fixing something that’s wrong as it is calling things into alignment and finding the wellness that already exists within us.

Bringing our bodies into alignment is typically done with the things we think about when we think of healthy choices.

  1. Eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. This looks different for each person and the more comfortable you get with listening to your body, the more obvious it will be for you. Some people thrive on a vegan diet while others really need meat from animal protein. Do what feels right for you and focus on using your intuition for the type and amount of food to eat.
  2. Exercise regularly. Some people love the gym. That’s not me. I prefer to go for walks outside and do yoga a couple of times a week. Do what you enjoy, because it will ensure that you do it more often.
  3. Get 6-8 hours of sleep each night. This is not pharmaceutical-induced sleep. This is the “go to bed and drift off to sleep fairly soon afterwards and wake up feeling rested” kind of sleep. Sleep helps your body function better and helps you calmly handle stressful situations. If you need help in this area, you may need to create a new, evening sleep routine and there are many essential oils that can help support healthy sleep patterns including Lavender, RutaVaLa, Valerian and Patchouli.
